Facility footprint

is the area which is needed for the totality of a facility (including the resources such as steam etc.). With the implementation of single-use technologies it is possible to save up to 40 % of space 7. Reasons for this reduction are the easier and more flexible installation of hardware with a more efficient use of the space available 8. It has to be considered, however, that production facilities using single-use systems are generally in need of larger storage compartments for warehousing (e.g. of consumables).
