Volumetric oxygen transfer coefficient
is a measure for the efficiency of the oxygen input or the oxygen transport from the gas to the liquid phase, and is also referred to as kLa-value. The parameter is generally influenced by the bioreactor geometry, its impellent and the aeration system, as well as the characteristics of the culture broth. See kLa-value and oxygen input.
